February 9, 2019: Let's Talk About College Life

On  Saturday, February 9th, Cultivating GEMS, Inc hosted our ' Let's Talk About College' panel with ladies who are currently college students and graduates!

The panelists are PHENOMENAL women! They poured into the lives of our GEMS by sharing their experiences in college and encouraging them to make wise decisions and teaching them how to navigate life as a future students.

We discussed purpose, changing majors, internships, relationships, safety, sororities, sex, finances, social media presence, moving off campus and so much more!

January 19, 2019: Overcoming Fear

On Saturday, January 19th, Cultivating GEMS, Inc held our 'Overcoming Fear' workshop with Mrs. Maria Perry. As we begin a new year, it is important to reflect on the lessons of 2018 and plan for 2019! Mrs. Maria Perry gave us the tools we need to start overcoming our fears and receiving everything that God has for you. She taught us to confront our fears and discover life on the other side of fear.

December 1, 2018: Girls' Night Out!

On Saturday, December 1st, Cultivating GEMS hosted our 1st Girls Night! We started the evening by taking pictures and videos, introducing some of our GEMS. Next, we went to Andretti's Indoor Karting & Games, where we played Laser Tag, arcade games, and rode virtual rides and had dinner! We ended the night dancing, eating smores, drinking hot chocolate, of course, girl talk!

It was certainly a night to remember!

November 10, 2018: Let's Talk About Finances Workshop

On Saturday, November 10th, Cultivating GEMS, Inc held our financial workshop with Tara Spann. She shared information on making and managing money, budgeting, financial planning, and attending college/technical school debt free! We also discussed entrepreneurship and lessons learned from the other mentors and parents in attendance!

September 20, 2018: Vision Board Party

On Thursday, September 20th, Cultivating GEMS, Inc held a vision board party at North Clayton High School. The students shared their vision for their future. On their boards, they included their passions, career goals, family goals, strengths and some of their weaknesses that they wanted to improve. We also discussed the importance of seeking God for direction in their life. These GEMS have a great future ahead of them and will certainly make a difference!

October 6, 2018: Unplugged Workshop

On Saturday, October 6th, Cultivating GEMS, Inc held our Unplugged workshop with Orlena Wyatt and Neeco Bourgeois. It was so important for us to Unplug from the busyness of life and connect with one another! We enjoyed kayaking, feeding pigs, hiking, rock climbing, and enjoying nature.

Orlena Wyatt led us in the outdoor team building activities, where we challenged ourselves, learned new skills and continued to cultivate friendships.

Neeco Bourgeois is a fitness and beauty consultant who inspires women to live and dream again. She empowered us to embrace who God created us to be and how He created us. She also challenged us to get rid of the negative thought and replace them with daily affirmations that uplift us for 21 days! We then had facials that left our skin feeling soft and clean!

September 8, 2018: Health & Wellness Workshop

On Saturday, September 8th, Cultivating GEMS, Inc will host our Health and Wellness workshop with Regan-Janell Hales. Regan is no stranger to the health and fitness world. With over 6 years of personal training experience and 8 years of team fitness and training, Regan guarantees her clients better health, knowledge of nutrition and accomplished goals. We are excited to have her lead us in a workout and share information on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. 

Shonobe Morgan is more motivated than ever to help women and young girls discover their true identity using the tools she gained over the years to become a – Fearless Woman of God! 

Lunch will be provided! It will definitely be a great time!

August 4, 2018: Back to School Brunch at Impact Event Center

On Saturday, August 4th, Cultivating GEMS hosted a Back to School Brunch for high school ladies and their mothers! A delicious brunch was prepared by Sankofa Catering. Monica & Co provided a fabulous display of desserts. Social Xposure captured memories that will last forever with their selfie booth and custom props. Ms. Destiny Nixon was our emcee and Dr. Claudia Barnett was our special guest speaker! We gave out prizes and prayed over the students! We truly had a great time, join us next year!
