February 8, 2020: What Is Real Love?

On February 8th, we had a panel that consisted of a married and dating couple. They poured into our GEMS! Each person shared their wisdom and insight on healthy relationships, domestic violence, and self-confidence! The conversation was engaging and our GEMS are so wise! I have no doubt that when the time comes they will pursue meaningful, healthy relationships!

After our panel discussion, we painted with @casstheartist 💕💜💕Cassandra is an awesome instructor and our GEMS are so talented! We painted women with crowns and wrote positive affirmations.

January 18, 2020: GEMS Fight Back

On January 18th, we held a self-defense class with Divas in Defense! Our phenomenal instructor, Ms. Skye, taught us techniques to defend ourselves and shared ways we can be more safe. I am proud of our GEMS! They caught on fast and were very engaged. I would NOT mess with them if I were you! 👊🏽 Thanks again, Skye!!!! Keep empowering young women!!!

December 7, 2019: Believe in Your Selfie Event

Cultivating GEMS, Inc had the awesome opportunity to partner with Ms. West Creative Coach for our 2nd Believe in Your Selfie Event. It was a privilege for us to be in a room full of greatness!!! These young women and all the speakers were incredibly inspiring! BELIEVE IN YOUR SELFIE!!!

December 5, 2019: Dress for Success at North Clayton High School

Our Business Attire Boutique was a success! We discussed professionalism and select students modeled professional clothing. Thank you to everyone who donated clothing and accessories and volunteered!!! We will continue to provide business attire throughout the year, so you can still donate! 💕💜💕 We are also providing our young men with business attire, so men can donate as well!💜🖤💜 

November 9, 2019: Entrepreneurship 101

On Saturday, November 9th, we partnered with Inner L.I.G.H.T. Outreach to host an Entrepreneurship 101 Workshop. Mr. Rose gave us strategies and tools needed to run a successful business. We will also learned from female entrepreneurs, who shared their wisdom and experiences.

Our GEM, Zoe, won $100 from the fast-pitch contest! All the GEMS had great business ideas and did well pitching.

October 14, 2019: Girls Know About Cars Too

On Monday, October 14th, we partnered with the Automotive Training Center to teach our GEMS the basics of car maintenance. We learned how to change a tire, check the oil, recharge a battery, and so much more.

The GEMS got a chance to change a tire and put air in the tires. We truly appreciate Automotive Training Center for everything they do in the community and for sharing their knowledge!

September 7, 2019: Lean Into Your Brilliance

On September 7th, we will host our “Lean Into Your Brilliance” workshop. Dr. Matisa Wilbon is an author, speaker, and educator who inspires and empowers others daily. She will discuss the importance of recognizing our purpose and vision in life. We will also do a vision board and share our goals for the upcoming year!

July 27, 2019: Back to School Brunch

Our Back to School Brunch was truly impactful! Our speaker, Mrs. Erica Battles, encouraged us all to remember who we are! She also gifted the girls with a copy of her book, “Who are You?”.

The new GEMS are phenomenal young women! They got to know one another and win prizes.

We gave out school supplies, feminine products and other gifts! Thank you to all those attending and donated to make this event a success!

Lashana West with Ms. West Creative Coaching and Consulting shared how to organize your life to increase productivity. We discussed strategic ways to get organized, multi-task, and make the most of our days.

March 2, 2019: Becoming a Professional

On  Saturday, March 2nd, Cultivating GEMS, Inc will host our 'Becoming a Professional' workshop with Lydia Yohannes. 

Lydia Yohannes is a Talent Acquisition Specialist. She will discuss professionalism in high school, interviewing, resume writing, professional attire and other topics that will help you prepare for successful careers!
